Eternal Black and White

Éternel Noir et blanc

What if it only took two colors to write a beautiful page in the history of ARTIST? Black and white, opposing and complementary, form a timeless duo that spans eras without ever losing its strength.

A true safe bet that transcends seasons and fleeting fashions. While some trends appear and then disappear with the seasons, black and white never truly leave the stage.

Wearing black and white often means choosing an elegance that does not depend on the current fashion.

Each era reinterprets it in its own way. ARTIST has drawn inspiration from this graphic power to surprise with a new aesthetic statement.

An upcoming Art-à-Porter collection will therefore embody a full summer 2026 based on the purity of lines and the strength of contrast.

Black reveals shapes. White creates space. Together they converse, echoing each other. Black and white possess a unique ability: to facilitate, clarify the gaze while intensifying emotion.

In fashion as in art, an idea can emerge when everything opposes, in the alliance of opposites. A highly influential visual language stands out ostentatiously from an infinite tension between shadow and light,

For centuries, drawing has been the starting point of any work. A charcoal line, an ink sketch, an engraving, or a photograph: before color, there is always line and contrast.

For this upcoming theme, ARTIST has decided on only two colors. Without the distraction of color, the gaze focuses on composition, materials, and graphic rhythms.

While black and white have always existed in clothing, their true stylistic revolution appears at the beginning of the 20th century. A period when fashion begins to break free from the excessive ornamentation of the 19th

Some designers dare to take a radically different path. Black gradually becomes a color of modern elegance.

In 1920, pioneer Coco Chanel established her famous "little black dress." Later, design and architecture explore all the optical effects of these two colors.

This does not escape other pioneering or heir couturiers, yesterday as today. Christian Dior, Piet Mondrian, YSL, and many others approach a more radical and intellectual movement.

( Paired with black, white reveals all its light.

On this true ground of experimentation, the Silhouettes become more sculptural, bolder, and the patterns more geometric. Each decade reinterprets it and places it in an eternal modernity.

Paired with white, black enhances minimalism. Paired with black, white reveals all its light. At the heart of this perfect alliance, the cut and construction resonate and take on their full dimension.

Today, this combination has fascinated ARTIST. It perfectly meets contemporary aspirations: simplicity, timelessness, sustainability. The black and white have created a sense of pause.

Brigitte and François opted for an infinitely expressive and different palette. They played with the element of surprise to lighten their universe filled with strong images and multiple colors.

(An idyllic place for the next Blanc de Noir collection.

They announce an upcoming wardrobe that is both classic and deeply contemporary. They have designed a collection around contrast, emphasizing the graphic strength of the chosen work while allowing the silhouette to breathe.

At ARTIST, art does not remain still. It only took these two opposing colors to reveal the full richness of their creation.

This time their graphic landscape transcribes the binary rhythm, each volume coexists with the depth of this striking duo.

Each model reveals the yin and yang of the composition. Between the two, the patterns derived from the original work create a dynamic movement, with bold and delicate elements.

In the story that ARTIST will tell you shortly, the original work has found a new form of expression: at the opposite end of multicolored prints but always true to the energy of the Art-à-Porter brand.

Next Sunday, we will talk about the guest artist. On March 27, we will tell you all about the alluring black and white collection.

Artist La marque:
