Great North: when art takes the path to the peaks

Grand Nord : quand l’art prend le chemin des sommets

Before understanding it, the work makes its presence felt. A landscape draws the eye into the distance, but the gaze also catches on the beauty of an intriguing detail.

In the foreground, the fragile silhouette of a tree stands out against a stretch of frozen water or crystalline snow. In the upper section, shapes float across a frieze somewhere between clouds and flowers. The texture of the colors is almost palpable: a hypnotic blue, a varnished black, an immaculate white, and a few golden glints. With Édouard Buzon, reality is there, but already transformed.

This is the canvas Brigitte and François chose as their starting point. Not simply to reproduce it within their theme, but to enter its universe and imagine what it could become once worn.

The idea for a winter collection was already there. All that remained was to give it a territory and an identity. Faced with Édouard Buzon's work, Brigitte and François were immediately transported to the Far North: the highest peaks, but also the icy expanses stretching from Spitsbergen to Ushuaia. In this palette, they rediscovered ice, snow, landscapes, and skies. They interpret this polar atmosphere in the Artist collection. Online from September 18 to 27, 2026, it opens up the horizon to wide-open spaces, frosts, and a sporty-chic spirit.

The work then breaks free from its framework to enter into movement. It fragments, changes scale, appears on a garment, or reveals only one of its features. A painting becomes a motif, a line transforms into a cutout, and a color finds its continuation in a material. That is the whole point of this collaboration: not to wear a painting, but to wear what it inspired.

Ten unique styles - including stirrup pants and a hooded sweatshirt in two colors - make up this wardrobe and tell the same story: that of a sporty style that above all does not seek to resemble traditional technical wear.

All the hallmarks of extreme cold are there:

Reversible puffer jacket, sleeveless vest, tops, sweater, hooded sweatshirt, stirrup pants, fleece jacket, and softshell jacket (two protective fabrics assembled together).

Because harsh weather knows how to bite wherever you are. In the city, countryside, or mountains, temperatures can plummet, drafts can become biting, and mists damp and penetrating. Protecting, enveloping, creating a barrier against the icy wind that lashes and pierces, without ever giving up on style. Grand Nord thwarts every harsh attack.

The line is dynamic, sleek, and comfortable. The protective volumes of the upper body balance the streamlined cut of the stirrup pants, offered in both black and white.

Its particularly high-quality stretch knit gently hugs the body while providing support, shaping and structure. The jackets define the silhouette; the sleeveless cardigan creates layers, while the hooded sweatshirt adds a more casual touch, available either on a white background or a blue one. Tops and sweaters bring art to the heart of the outfit.

And above all, no total look is imposed. Each woman can play with the colors and the presence of the artwork. The reversible puffer jacket is undoubtedly the best illustration: on the printed side, it fully expresses Édouard Buzon’s pictorial world; turned inside out, it becomes a solid piece in a pure blue that evokes those dazzling winter skies, cloudless, when sunlight reflects off the snow.

White brightens, black intensifies and accentuates contrasts. Prints can echo one another or be paired with solid pieces to create a graphic, sporty outfit. A fleece softens the overall look. Each woman can adjust, combine and create.

Art to wear, even in the cold.

Because behind the “winter sports” spirit lies a question of style, well-being and freedom. No performance is required, except that of the fabrics and shapes, allowing you to get through the harsh season well protected, without giving up color, whimsy or your personality.

And perhaps this is where the encounter between Édouard Buzon and Artist takes on its full meaning. The work was not simply transferred onto clothing: it opened up an imaginary world. Brigitte and François captured its colors, light, contrasts and sense of vastness to create their own clothing setting.

A landscape that now dresses each woman. A nature that takes shape, falls apart and takes shape again according to the mood and desires of the woman who slips into it.

With Grand Nord, the Art-to-Wear concept that is central to the Artist brand takes on an almost literal dimension: a work of art escapes, breaks free, encounters clothing and, ultimately, comes to life in the movement of the person wearing it.
