The return of the unis for pre-order: getting back to basics

As announced in our previous article, we will open a pre-order sale around our solid suede pants, 

offered in 6 colors, from Friday, May 22 to Monday, June 1, 2026.

For several seasons, we had chosen to evolve this "Les Permanents" line towards a stock sales model, available continuously. 

At the time, the idea was simple: to allow more spontaneity, to respond immediately to desires, to make certain essential pieces accessible at any time.

But over time, we have also measured the limits of this functioning.

At ARTIST, we have always advocated for controlled, reasoned production, without waste. 

We usually only produce the quantities ordered. That is our way of working on all ARTIST le Studio BF collections. 

A demanding method but consistent with our values.

Even if it remained marginal in our overall functioning, we wanted to test a more "classic" approach for "Les Permanents." 

And this experience has taught us a lot.

Because contrary to what the name "Les Permanents" might suggest, it was impossible for us to restart productions quickly. 

Our manufacturing times remain the same: about 12 weeks. 

As a result: certain references, certain sizes, or certain colors were regularly unavailable.

And this has generated misunderstanding, frustration, and sometimes even discontent. 

Much more often than we would have liked, in any case.

Our way of working has always been to question ourselves. Test, observe, adjust, change if necessary. 

Only the stubborn never change their minds.

That is why we decided to return to what intrinsically defines ARTIST: the pre-order.

This system allows each person to precisely order the desired model, size, and color. 

It also allows us to produce accurately, without unnecessary surplus, while ensuring quality manufacturing.

For this new series of "UNIS Suedes," the six colors offered for winter 26 have been developed as a complete palette around the upcoming collections.

Easy-to-match shades, ideal for the transitional seasons of autumn or spring as well as for winter. 

Of course, these pants can perfectly mix with older ARTIST collections or simply with the pieces you already have in your wardrobe.

As for their cut and comfort, they are well proven. 

For several seasons, these pants have established themselves as essentials. Timeless pieces that are easy to wear and naturally create a silhouette.

The fabric itself tells a story of craftsmanship and loyalty. It was developed with a specialist from the Barcelona region with whom we have been working for over twenty years. 

Our global sourcing remains French or from nearby European countries, mainly from Spain or Italy.

A material designed primarily for comfort and wearability: lyocell for fluidity, modal for softness, cotton for a chic sportswear look, combined with technical fibers that provide structure, strength, and elasticity.

For this series of "UNIS suede pants," we also use a mastered technique that we love to practice: piece dyeing. 

The pants are first made from an unbleached canvas, then dyed once assembled. This method gives the colors a very particular depth and density. 

It also enhances that famous "peach skin" touch that makes these pants so unique.

A piece that appears simple but is designed down to the smallest details.
