It all started last December. We launched a call to our ARTIST community.
An open invitation to propose a work, to share a perspective, to bring a universe into ours.
A collective adventure.

The response exceeded all our expectations. Nearly 800 canvases were sent to us.
800 universes. 800 sensitivities. 800 proposals. An incredible richness…
But also a real challenge. Because asking the entire community to look and choose from 800 works would have been simply impossible.
Too long. Too dense. Too demanding. A first step needed to be created.
12 perspectives to open the way.
We therefore formed a selection committee. 12 ARTIST clients, drawn at random from those who had signed up to participate in this adventure. 12 sincere, free, engaged perspectives.
Their mission: to make a first choice. They selected 25 canvases. 25 works from 800. A meticulous, sensitive job, guided more by emotion than by technique.
These 25 canvases were then submitted to the entire ARTIST community. And very quickly, one work stood out.
Clear. Sharp. Without hesitation: the canvas of ÉLISABETH COUDOL.
It did not impose itself over time. It imposed itself immediately. Like an obvious choice. A shared, almost instinctive choice, that gathered widely. Well beyond the other proposals.

Why this canvas?
Undoubtedly because it does not seek to do too much. At first glance, it seems simple.
Shapes. Lines. Fragments of landscape. And yet, the more you look at it, the more it reveals its richness. Nothing is fixed. Everything flows. It leaves space. It invites.
A painting that breathes.
This work marks a particular moment in ÉLISABETH COUDOL's work.
After denser compositions, she chose to remove. To simplify. To let breathe. Fewer elements. More space. More silence.
And in this silence, a strong presence appears. A form of calm. A sensation of rightness.
The subtle language of color
The blue, Élisabeth's signature, is there. Deep. Enveloping. It structures the canvas, gives it coherence. Opposite it, oranges create a gentle tension.
Nuances appear, disappear. The colors are never decorative. They converse. They build an emotion, a living material.

As you approach, the canvas announces another dimension. Layered textures. Traces. Imprints.
Élisabeth works by adding, removing, leaving marks of the gesture. The canvas retains the memory of its construction. It becomes alive.
An open work.
What makes this canvas so special is also that it neither closes nor confines anything. It does not tell a unique story. It suggests several.
Everyone can project their gaze onto it. A landscape. A memory. A sensation. And this is undoubtedly what allowed so many people to identify with it.
From canvas to clothing.
When we welcomed this work, without anticipation, playing the game of the competition, a question arose:
How to make it live differently? Because our creativity does not reproduce but interprets.
We worked from its balances, its rhythms, its tensions. Like a translation.
A work in motion.
Then, a key moment. The one where the canvas leaves the wall. It becomes clothing. It enters the movement. What was fixed becomes alive. What was contemplated becomes worn.
Surely not a coincidence.
This canvas did not assert itself by chance. It went through a collective process. First 12 perspectives. Then hundreds.
And at every step, the same observation.
At ARTIST, we deeply believe in those moments. In those works that bring people together effortlessly. Those that assert themselves... Simply because they are right.
